Welcome to Red Gables Country Bed & Breakfast

We would like to welcome you to our home situated in Longford near NEWPORT, Shropshire .. offering comfort and peace in our newly converted three bedroomed (all ensuite) Coach House situated at the rear of the property  (see accommodation section for pictures of Coach House ). We have a large double room with private balcony and ensuite shower room, another double with ensuite shower room, and a twin room with ensuite bathroom.

We offer a little more than other bed and breakfast/guest houses, and cover Newport, Telford, Shrewsbury, Ironbridge,  Stafford and the Midlands.  Our accommodation is separate to the main house, with our guests having their own lounge, patio area and full use of modern kitchen once breakfasts have been served. We offer a large full english breakfast, together with many alternatives (see menu page). We take pride in our home and business, and hope that you enjoy your stay, making full use of all the facilities provided. 

Red Gables is a beautiful country house, set in five acres of private land. It has two driveways, one at the front of the property and a long drive with electric gates at the side, with open views across our own land and neighbouring farmland. Our gardens are formal, and to be enjoyed by everyone, with plenty of walks around the grounds, or further afield for the more energetic! 

When you arrive at the front of the property, you will pull onto our pavioured driveway and drive around to the back of the house and park in residents parking area, where you will be met by myself or my husband John.  Your vehicle will stay secure in our gated private grounds.  (We have a large parking area,  enough to accommodate vans, trailers and even heavy goods if required. )

We are in Longford next to Longford Hall, and only one mile from Newport, a market town with many eating places, shops, pubs and even a nightclub. We are also one mile from the village of Edgmond with two pubs, a village school, shop and Harper Adams Agricultural College. And at Lilleshall there is the the renown Lilleshall Sports Centre.

Our nearest large town is Telford, with Ironbridge and Shrewsbury all within half an hours drive, and the M54 connecting us to the Midlands where people travelling to Wales or Scotland may wish to break their journeys ... or if you choose to go the opposite way, you will find Stafford,  Market Drayton and Whitchurch ....  not forgetting the Shropshire Union Canal, offering plenty of walks with beautifull country inns along the way!
